How to send Nuggets on Facebook

Facebook reaches a wide and civically engaged audience — including many people with deep roots in their communities who are most likely to be constituents of your representatives. It's also one of the best platforms for reaching friends and neighbors who don't use X or Instagram.

 

Set up an account on Facebook, if you don't already have one

 

1.  Visit facebook.com or download the Facebook app and click "Create new account." Enter your name, email or phone number, date of birth, and create a password to complete setup.

 

Follow Climate Nuggets on Facebook

 

1.  Search for Climate Nuggets and go to our page. Click Follow (or Like) to see our Nuggets in your feed. Click the Following button and select Favorites so Facebook prioritizes our posts.

 

Find your representatives on Facebook

 

1.  Use the tool below — enter your ZIP code to find your two Senators and House Representative, along with links to their Facebook pages and a suggested message to copy.

 

2.  Click the link to go directly to each representative's Facebook page.

 

3.  Click "Copy Message" to copy the suggested caption to your clipboard.

 

Post a Nugget and contact your rep

 

1.  Find a Nugget on our Climate Nuggets Facebook page that speaks to you. Click Share and select "Share to your timeline" to post it to your own profile where your friends and community will see it.

 

2.  Add a personal comment before sharing — why does this Nugget matter to you? A sentence or two makes people far more likely to stop and read.

 

3.  Go to your representative's Facebook page and leave a comment on one of their recent posts, or post directly to their page if it's enabled. Paste your copied message and attach the Nugget image.

 

End your posts with a call to action: "Follow Climate Nuggets and send a Nugget to your own rep!"
